Quilting night in Canada

Last night I joined five other quilters for a QINC to work on our Orange Peel Quilts. Some have been able to get a lot of cutting and sewing done, however, I am just starting to get my act together. Last night I cut some of my fabric into the five inch squares for the four patch blocks., and some into the 2 inch strips for the arcs. Tomorrow is an afternoon of sewing.

Resolution up date--
I did 3 kms on the walking track in our city's arena.
All the meals today were healthy and full of fruit and veg, dinner included a lean pork chop.
Now this is where I slipped a little. To get the full effect of the Orange Peel Quilt, it is necessary to use a large number of different fabrics. So..... to complete some of my colour combinations some purchases were required...but they were all on sale.
Two out of three is not too bad.

Today was lovely and sunny but cold. I feel so much better when the sun is shining, (does anyone else feel this way?) often wonder if I have a very mild case of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

Like you, I have to have plenty of sun in my life. We had our new house built with that in mind and it has been just perfect to sit with the sun pouring through the windows in the winter and, what my husband rejoices in, free heat! I look forward to seeing the finished quilt.

I don't have a mild case of SADD....come February I'm nearly bedbound! I fight it as best as I can, but it is SUCH a bummer! Hang in there!

So glad you could join us Tuesday night! It was so nice getting together with a bunch of ladies!! And, good job on those cases...they are perfect! Have you been working on your orange peels since Tuesday night? I have been on a roll and have 20 arcs finished and 6 more that I hope to finish tonight. they look so pretty that I just need to keep going :-).

I don't suffer from SADD for sure. I love cloudy days as the brightness of the sun bothers my eyes often. I do like sitting in the sunshine though :-) and it looks pretty on the snow. I enjoy sun more in summer. I guess I'm backward from everyone else :-)
